ITALIAN LANGUAGE & CULTURE CLASSES RESUME THE WEEK OF SEPTEMBER 30, 2024

Join us in celebrating Italy, the Italian language and its beautiful culture in-person (at the lovely Columbus Citizens Foundation Townhouse, 8 East 69 th Street, NYC) or on zoom.
Classes:
Beginners 1: Introduction to the Italian language, grammar, pronunciation and culture for students who have not studied Italian. Study basic expressions and structures; introduce present and future tenses.
Beginners 2: Work on conversational development involving more complex expressions and structures; reinforce and practice present and future tenses; introduce the past (passato prossimo).
Beginners 2-Lower Intermediate: Introduce and practice speaking and writing in more complex tenses: past (passato prossimo), imperfect (imperfetto), conditional (condizionale); continue development of proper pronunciation and conversational fluency.
Conversation 1: Best suited for students who have completed Beginners 2 or its equivalent.
Intermediate 1: Review and reinforce use of grammar learned in previous levels; introduce more complex structures, with added emphasis on reading simple short stories and articles, speaking and presentation skills.
Intermediate 2: Review of advanced grammar, reinforce reading and writing skills; continue development of cultural awareness and conversational fluency.
Intermediate 3 Book Cub: Introduction to Italian literature (i.e. novels, short stories); develop and practice conversational fluency and presentation skills.
Conversation 3 and Advanced: Fine tune conversational-presentation skills; enhance and reinforce understanding of Italian literature (i.e. novels, short stories, poetry); review complex grammar. This class will continue to study Italian films and television series as a means of enhancing language acquisition and a deeper understanding of Italian culture and the arts. Best suited for students who have completed at least Intermediate 2 or its equivalent.
