Grants for Teacher’s Salary

GRADES : Pre-K through 12

Grants are available only for curricular programs (not for after school programs).

Grants for Educational materials can be requested only in addition to grants for the teacher’s salary, on the same form. The option to apply solely for educational materials is no longer available.

Applying is free but please note that all schools receiving a grant will have to become institutional members of IACE by paying the $150 yearly membership.

Schools are responsible for paying the teacher’s salary in full and submitting a copy of the payroll printout which proves that the teachers of Italian have been paid. After receiving the payroll printout, IACE will reimburse the school at the end of the school year. Reimbursements must now be processed exclusively through wire transfers to the school or district account, and checks will no longer be issued. Schools will be required to provide their wire transfer details.

Grants are based on a matching commitment by the district or the school, with the expectation that the program will become gradually self-sustaining within a period of three years, unless the initial program has expanded to include new grades or has been modified by increasing the instructional time.

The grant’s timing and amount are subject to change without prior notice, contingent on factors such as the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Euro-Dollar exchange rate. These variables are beyond IACE’s control and responsibility.
